A statistical ancestry gradient is not an origin story — and this framing directly contradicts Ambedkar's own rejection of the Aryan-race theory of caste. Genes, language and caste stay on three separate tracks, never one arrow. This claim flatters our own thesis, which is exactly why we guard against it hardest.

Reddy and Kamma are dominant landholding castes — ritually low in Brahmin theory, but never untouchable and locally the ruling elite. Mala and Madiga are the ex-untouchable Scheduled Castes who suffered untouchability from those very castes. Flattening them into one shared past erases the Karamchedu and Tsundur atrocities.

“Nine million books were burned at Nalanda.”
The destruction of Nalanda around 1193 CE is mainstream history, attributed to Bakhtiyar Khalji's forces — that much is not a fabrication. But the ‘9 million manuscripts’ figure is legendary and unverifiable. We keep the documented event and drop the inflated number.

“Slavery in India was abolished in 1807.”
The 1807 Act ended the British slave trade. Slavery within India was abolished only by the Indian Slavery Act of 1843. We date it to 1843.

Child-marriage restraint dated to the 1891 Age of Consent Act.
Two different laws, routinely merged. The 1891 Act raised the age of consent; restraint on the age of marriage is the Child Marriage Restraint (Sarda) Act of 1929. We keep them apart.

Where we describe an old-code provision but have not yet confirmed the verse against a scholarly translation, we withhold the number and show a ‘citation pending’ badge rather than guess. Every such gap is listed in the build report so it can be cleared.

A surname points to where to look, not to a person's caste — regions, conversions and migration scatter names across categories. The ‘which code ruled you’ tool says so on every result. We never assert caste from a name.
